Giraffes
I began the lesson by asking the children to draw a giraffe. Here is one of the fantastic looking giraffes.

Before view

Next we looked at pictures and photos of real giraffes, noting the shapes and lines.  They practiced in our sketchbooks until they were happy with the shape and size of the giraffe's head. This was then enlarged.

After  instruction

The student then used pastels.  We discussed coverage and colour choices.
