Warm and cool grids

Year 5 children began this project by ruling up a grid 2 cm by 2 cm.  A New Zealand animal, bird or plant was chosen to add to the grid.
We used watercolour paints, using cool colours for either the background or the main object.  Children were able to produce different shades of a colour, depending on the amount of water they added.
To complete their work, they outlined in black pen.
